Sri Vidyakanta Theertharu

Sri Vidyakanta Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha and is Twenty Eighth saint from Madhwacharya. Below is his brief introduction.

Period  – 1812-1824

Poorvashrama Name  –  Nacchappacharya

Ashrama guru             –  Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha

Ashrama Shishya         –  Sri Vidyanidhi Theertha

Aradhana                     – Jeshta Shudha Navami

Vrundavana Place      – Sosale

 

He was Poorvashrama relative of Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha. He also received honours from kings of Mysore, Kochi, Tiruvankore etc. he received villages like Halkurike Sarthanahalli as gifts from Mysore king. Samsthana main deity Sri Moola Gopalakrishna received vaijayantimala during his time. He wrote many Kannada songs after Sri Vyasaraja with ankita as “Vidyakanta”.

After handing over mahasamsthana to Sri Vidyanidhi Theertha, he entered Vrundavana at Sosale.
